Matthew reselected for 2024

I am delighted to have been reselected as the Conservative Party’s candidate for next year’s PCC elections.

I have worked with the Force and Government and delivered a thousand more Police in Kent. Nearly doubled the amount of funding for victims services. The number of county lines gangs has halved. The rural policing team has more than doubled in size. I have secured millions of pounds of funding to prevent crime and antisocial behaviour. As a result, crime is falling and more people are accessing the help they need.

There’s more that needs to be done and I want to go further. I’ll increase visibility, better outcomes for victims of crime and safer communities. I will work with Kent Police to help build trust and confidence and make the Force fit for the future.

Rt Hon Damian Green, MP for Ashford, said “It’s great news for Kent that Matthew wants to carry on as PCC. He has seen a rise in police numbers and successful efforts to turn the tide on serious crime like drug running across County lines. I will be working hard for his re-election.”

Dartford MP Gareth Johnson said “I am delighted Matthew Scott has been reselected as our Police and Crime Commissioner candidate. Matthew has been outstanding in this role and has ensured that Kent now has more Police Officers than ever before in its history. He has also ensured that crime overall is falling. There is still work to be done but I am confident he is the right person to carry out that work.”

The next PCC election is on Thursday 2 May 2024.
