Keeping retail crime in focus

It was good to catch up with #Swanley county councillor Perry Cole today. Following his question to me at the last Police and Crime Panel in October about shoplifting, we met to discuss the progress the Police are making as well as the roll out of the new neighbourhood model.

I also spent some time at the Kent Police Engagement Centre in Bluewater this afternoon – great to see so many people dropping by for crime prevention devices and information!

I chatted to one of the Policing team there about the impact of shoplifting and what trends they were seeing.

Working with businesses to prevent crime and antisocial behaviour is a priority in my Police and Crime Plan and I will continue to hold the Chief Constable to account for this.
