Panel’s high praise for police volunteers

Panel’s high praise for police volunteers

Thank you to Kent’s Police and Crime Panel for their high praise for all of the volunteers who support our Police and criminal justice system, at our meeting earlier today.

The panel reviews my work and supports me in holding the Chief Constable to account. They’d asked for an update on “Citizens in Policing” which includes the contingent of Special Constables, cadets and leaders, CPVs, staff volunteers and more.

I also reported on the great work of other groups including Speedwatch, ICVs, Neighbourhood Watch, Kent Search and Rescue and South East 4×4.

You can read the report here: https://democracy.kent.gov.uk/mgConvert2PDF.aspx?ID=94294

There’s so much going on that as I was speaking, I was referencing even more like Urban Blue Bus, and the recent national award won by one of our Special Sergeants!

The Panel formally recorded its thanks to all the volunteers and wants to do more to recognise them, which is tremendous.

Our emergency services and criminal justice systems rely on volunteers to support them, and its great to see them recognised.
