169 male victims of domestic abuse in Kent have benefited from support from Dads Unlimited and DAVSS so far this year, after the charities received funding from my Office.

This is on top of the training I commissioned from The ManKind Initiative for Police Officers and Staff.

These figures were released as part of International Men’s Day yesterday.

According to the Crime Survey for England as Wales, a third of victims of domestic abuse are men, but despite more coming forward in recent years, many do not have the confidence to report it.

That’s why I believe it’s important to offer support services for women and men, so that no one should have to suffer in silence – it’s an issue that I’ve been campaigning on consistently over a number of years.

Help can be obtained by calling DAVSS on 01892 570538 or Dad’s Unlimited via 01233 680150.
